During the last years, an economic ecosystem has evolved in Berlin, bringing entrepreneurs with fresh ideas and well educated multilingual web developers together in affordable office space.
Additionally, they are enjoying increasing numbers of investors willing to finance their projects. Many of these investors are second-generation founders, having started up in Berlin themselves, now passing on their knowledge to upcoming entrepreneurs. They are working together on starting up the next Google, Skype or Facebook right here in Berlin’s 'Silicon Allee'.
These days, Berlin is reaching its „critical mass,” according to Skype founder Niklas Zennström.
JCI Berlin wants to make the virtual ecosystem of this development tangible by visiting companies and meeting the people that stand for 'Silicon Berlin'.
We will begin introducing the topic on Friday. The following day, we will meet owners and deputies of a well-established Internet company and innovative start-up. In addition, we will learn from the perspective of the investors. In the evening, we will reach „critical mass” on the JCI Berlin summer party. The agenda will be relaxed with related activities, including the legendary club disco crawl.
